Symphonic metal is a characteristic that is inherent in this band. Nightwish was founded in 1996 in Finland by Tuomas Holopainen , Emppu Vuorinen and Tarja Turunen. During the course of the band's career has several times made the turn member. The most attention is the turn of the band's vocalist. Already 3 times this band replacing vocalist. The starting position vocalist of the band's is Tarja Turunen who is also the founder of the band. Tarja Turunen is a singer who had a good soprano voice and make the band became more character. Shocking news came from the band stating that Tarja Turunen was dismissed from the band unilaterally by the band member. After being dismissed from the band, Tarja Turunen decided to pursue a solo career and until recently has released two albums. Tarja Turunen position subsequently replaced by Anette Olzon. This vocalist ultimately dismissed unilaterally by band members for personal reasons. In 2013 Nightwish announced new vocalist Floor Jansen. Floor Jansen has a voice that is almost like Tarja Turunen and Anette Olzon , but more energetic . This woman also does not use vocal soprano like Tarja Turunen. Nightwish is currently comprised of six members , namely Floor Jansen (lead vocals ) , Emppu Vuorinen ( lead guitar ) , Tuomas Holopainen ( keyboards ) , Marco Hietala ( bass guitar ) , Troy Donockley ( Uilleann pipes ) and Jukka Nevalainen ( drums ).

After a long time did not release an album, in 2015 finally Nightwish released a new album titled " Endless Forms Most Beautiful”. This album is the eighth album and was produced by Tuomas Holopainen. In this album Floor Jansen was not involved in the writing of the song because it still has a side project with Revamp. This album has a theme about life , evolution , new materials , new ideas , appreciation of music to science . the songs on the album have a strong emotional , exciting , touching , sad and imaginative . Play music with a slow orchestral accompaniment elements in this album are well integrated . Guitar with tones with the same rhythm made repeated but not the boring. Most of the songs in this album has interesting lyrics coupled with a great melody makes perfect so that it can be felt so deeply.

Album "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" consists of 15 songs. The first song in the album titled Shudder Before the Beautiful. This song sounds more mature, qualified, beautiful and more developed. vocals in this song fully use their skills and strong so as to make Shudder Before the Beautiful as the perfect opening track on this album. Song called Elan has type upbeat and positive song is the third track on the album. Then there is a song called Our Decades in the Sun . This song is very poetic and able to explore the singer 's voice. The theme song is respect for parents , a beautiful childhood memories of childhood. This song is very touching and delicate.
