Slipknot

Slipknot is composed of nine members who all wear masks with horror themes such terrible clowns, ghosts, long noses, and others. Each release of the new album, Slipknot  is also replacing their masks with a new mask. This mask which has always been the identity of each of their personnel.

Slipknot is one of the band nu metal that successfully combines rock music with a surprising effect through a mask that they wear are meant to evoke a reaction from the public to be more familiar with their music. They were also able to show the action stage a unique and cool. Slipknot also often entered into nomination and won a Grammy Award for  Best Metal Perfomence  in 2006. With the success they have, Slipknot has a loyal fan named Maggots. The name is inspired by the constant movement of people at their concerts.

GWAR

GWAR is a thrash metal band that was founded in Richmond, Virginia, in 1984. The band is best known for nuanced spooky Halloween costume. performance costumes worn by those inspired by horror movies and sci-fi. GWAR costumes are made from latex, styrofoam and rubber. The costumes used the band members describe as barbaric warrior who came from another planet. This is to strengthen the identity of the band that seems to come from outer space and will rule on this planet.

GWAR has a vulgar song lyrics, always show stage act crazy, tend to sadistic, and often violate the norms.  Although it looks sinister and sadistic, the band also often the theme of humor in their music in the form of satire on politics and morals. The band has been playing for 27 years and is still loved in underground rock scene for their crazy performances.

KISS

KISS is one of the heavy metal band from the United States who has been in the music world for 40 years. The band became one of the biggest heavy metal band in the world with his classic albums such as "Destroyer" and "Love Gun". They have sold more than 100 million albums and holding concerts around the world. One characteristic of KISS is the Make-up that is used by the members until now. Black and white make-up that they use is able to identify each personnel. Besides Make-up, There are interesting things from one of this band called Gene Simmons who always sticks out her tongue while on a concert or in a photo shoot. Gene Simmons tongue has a length of 7 inches. This exceeds the length of a normal human tongue that is 5 inches.

KISS could not wear make-up on September 18, 1983. But this makes them look like losing their identity and unattractive. Finally, KISS returned wearing make-up until now.

Buckethead

Buckethead or Death Cube K is a musician and songwriter from the United States, which has released twenty-seven solo albums and performed more than fifty performances. This man has a real name is Brian Patrick Carroll. He plays all genres of music such as funk, electronica, jazz, bluegrass, progressive metal, thrash metal, and avant-garde music. Buckethead is a talented guitarist and ability to be recognized by many parties. some of the awards that he can include managed to occupy the number 8 in the list of "20 greatest guitar shredders of all time" version of Guitar One magazine and included in the list of "50 fastest guitarist of all time" version of Guitar World magazine.

Buckethead has a strange appearance with typical wear masks "pasty white" (Kabuki) and also wear a KFC bucket of fried chicken on his head. And that makes him more strange was that he claimed to have been brought up by the chicken. KFC bucket that helped control the spirits of dead chickens and without the spirits, the ability to play the guitar can be lost. He also warned the citizens of the world about the events of chicken holocaust due to the proliferation of fast-food restaurants around the world, led by Colonel Sanders.

Insane Clown Posse

Insane Clown Posse is an American hip hop duo composed of Joseph Bruce and Joseph Utsler. Insane Clown Posse has distinctive features in the style clown evil killer. The duo perform hardcore hip hop style or often known as horrorcore. They also often do a live show that complicated. Songs from Insane Clown Posse has a theme of Dark Carnival mythology elaborated through a series of stories that offer about a particular subject. With the musical style, Insane Clown Posse earned two platinum and five gold albums throughout his career.

Actually there are a lot of bands and musicians with weird costumes like Lordi, Behemoth, The Misfits, Mushroomhead, and others that I have not discussed one by one. With the costume can make something more fresh and not boring. They have managed to make their identities to be easily recognized by people.
